👋 I'm Johnny Topaz, and despite my name sounding like that of a pro wrestler, I'm more interested in the world of digital marketing, personalisation and optimisation (rather than the WWE ring).

Why Create Settup?

Since 2005, I've launched 100's of digital campaigns, analysed swathes of data and conducted multiple AB tests (I still get a rush out of proving or disproving a hypothesis and sharing the learnings).

I’ve created this site purely because I want to share my passion for:

  • Delivering world-class personalised customer experiences.
  • Coaching others to become experts in digital marketing and conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
  • Product management and ensuring customers are flowing through a journey without friction.

Journey So Far

My Digital career started at a fast-paced online advertising agency which specialised in driving relevant traffic to small-medium sized businesses.

There, I mastered a wide range of digital marketing channels – PPC, SEO, display, email marketing and affiliates. My aim here extended beyond attracting those extra visits; I focussed on converting those clicks in to loyal customers. This is where I laid the foundation for my expertise in understanding customer behaviour.

The next step in my career took off at Thomas Cook, where I was responsible for selling package holidays online through the third-largest travel site in the UK. This competitive sector demanded creative approaches to boost conversion rates.

My time there emphasised the 'power of personalisation' and taught me how to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders across a very large group.

Today, I’m doing what I enjoy most - working for Barlcays, delivering highly personalised campaigns (which are seen by millions of customers) and running multiple tests across across all digital channels – an exciting place to be!
